The CNRD is a political party that was created by Rwandan refugees living in the Democratic Republic of Congo on 31 May 2016. The Party is open to all Rwandans. The party has members in Rwanda and the diaspora in several countries around the world.

The CNRD Party was created in the context of finding effective and definitive solutions to the questions of more than three hundred miles (300,000) refugees, scattered in the rainforests of the Democratic Republic of Congo and elsewhere in the world for more than 20 years.
The Rwandan refugee community in Congo and elsewhere in the world has come to the conclusion that the issue of Rwandan refugees is primarily political and that the solution must be political, hence the creation of a CNRD Political Party to contribute to research
